Breakfast on the Farm June 15 in Fayette
Ohio Ag Connection - 05/21/2019

Ever wondered how a dairy farm operates or where your food comes from? Breakfast on the Farm, a free event on June 15, will provide consumers a firsthand look at modern food production, said Eric Richer, an Ohio State University Extension educator. OSU Extension is the outreach arm of The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES).

The breakfast event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Henricks & Krieger Dairy, 14692 County Road 16-3, in Fayette. The event is free but requires registration. Register at go.osu.edu/fultonbotfregister2019.

The event allows the community to visit local farming operations, have a close-to-home agricultural experience, and interact with farm families who provide a wholesome food supply for Ohio and the world. Participants will be able to tour Henricks & Krieger Dairy, which has dairy cows and raises corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and wheat. Additionally, participants can learn about biosecurity, animal well-being, grain bin safety, water quality, cow nutrition, milk quality and safety, and nutrient management.

OSU Extension, the Fulton Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Ohio Farm Bureau in Fulton County are the sponsors of the event, featuring Ohio-grown and produced foods.
