Ohio Ag Connection - 06/01/2023

Ohio State University has received a grant from Trimble to establish state-of-the-art technology labs for the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). These labs will focus on agri-food engineering, construction management, and natural resources, providing support for teaching, research, and outreach. They will be the first to introduce farming solutions and offer training stations simulating the use of Trimble hardware and software.

The Trimble technology labs will integrate connected building solutions, revolutionizing the design and construction of buildings and living environments. Cathann A. Kress, Vice President of Agricultural Management for Ohio State and Dean of CFAES, expressed gratitude for Trimble's investment, highlighting the immeasurable impact on the university and its students.

These labs will position CFAES at the forefront of technology and innovation in agricultural and environmental sciences, benefiting students, outreach programs, and job training initiatives for farmers and agricultural professionals.

The introduction of new technologies aims to increase agricultural production while preserving the environment's quality. The Trimble technology labs, integrating geospatial and construction solutions, will be open in 2023, preparing students for careers in agriculture, construction, and natural resources. Trimble's longstanding support to Ohio and its commitment to education and research make this partnership critical.
