Ohio Farmers to be Recognized at Farm Science Review

The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) will be recognizing five farming families who are conservation leaders in agriculture from across Ohio at the 55th annual Farm Science Review this week.

ODA Director David Daniels will join with the ODA Division of Soil and Water Conservation Chief Kirk Hines, Ohio Farm Bureau Vice President of Public Policy Yvonne Lesicko, Ohio Farmer Editor Jennifer Kiel and Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts President Harold Neuenschwander to preent the 34th annual Conservation Farm Family Awards Sept. 21 at 11:30 a.m. in the Steven P. Hawkins Amphitheater -- Lot 323 at Farm Science Review in rural London.

The five families to be honored are: The Rufenacht Family of Fulton County; Dale and Rita Daniels of Erie County; Wendell and Greg Waters of Coshocton County; Greg and Gary McGlinch of Darke County; and Jim and Denise Sherman of Delaware County.

The Conservation Farm Family Awards program has recognized Ohio farm families since 1984 for their exemplary efforts in conserving soil, water, woodlands, wildlife and other natural resources on their farmland.
